A little last minute advice:

What you will find out very quickly is the amount you pay for a rental could get you into a decent home - if you can get preapproved.  There are a few programs out there to help you with downpayments and repairing any credit issues you may have.  Ask us for our local lenders we trust and have worked with to start your process!

Pets can also be a struggle.  Few landlords and apartments will allow pets in their rentals, and will require deposits and potential increase in rent if they do allow.  I've had some animal lovers that went looking for rentals, only to buy a home so they could provide a better place for their pets and family.

The rental market has been crazy the past few years. You may need to act quickly if you see a place that you love.
